PIPELINES
Pipelines, operating safely in Canada, have delivered energy directly to consumers and industry for many years. In Canada, there are more than 96,000 kilometres of transmission pipelines and about 480,000 kilometres in the U.S. Craft constructing and operating these pipelines identify and mitigate various hazards daily. Various tasks including physical overexertion, working in extreme temperatures, working at heights, and/or confined spaces can cause pain or injury and result in a possible setback.
Here at Western Allegiance Safety, we provided qualified and competent Safety Personnel who understand the pipeline industry and can facilitate new worker orientations, on-going training, and field support. Our Safety Personnel will represent your company in the field to ensure the safe completion of your project.
OIL AND GAS
Often, the Upstream Oil and Gas industry involves working in harsh environments with workers having to cope with volatile conditions.
A few of the legislative requirements every company must have in place to help lower the risk of injury include: a Pre-job Hazard Assessments, Field Level Risk Assessments, relevant and specific Safe Work Practices and Procedures, etc. and lastly, personal protective equipment. A workforce, properly trained in the identification of hazards and how to implement controls, will be more engaged and aware of their changing surroundings, which ultimately will contribute to lower injury rates.
REFINING AND PETROCHEMICAL
Work permits and safety operations on refinery and petrochemical sites are critical and our personnel understand this. Crews must understand environmental work hazards and emergency procedures in order to preserve workers well-being.
As energy demands continue and production plants are replaced, new major industrial energy construction projects begin. Our personnel maintain and support the client’s Safety Management System. We provide refinery and petrochemical industrial construction projects with competent, reliable personnel and innovative safety solutions.
Many hazards arise during the refining process of organic compounds. Fluid catalytic cracking and steam cracking require special processing techniques, equipment and procedures critical to carrying out the process, safely.
MANUFACTURING
Some important components in manufacturing workplaces are WHMIS, TDG, safety meetings, hazard assessments, first-aid and work procedures. Proper communication and training will reduce and mitigate risk in these high hazard companies.
Manufacturing specifications and preventative maintenance shutdowns are a good time for training, upgrading and reviewing safety procedures. New equipment and process upgrades require changes to your work procedures which need to be communicated and reviewed by your workers. Here at Western Allegiance Safety, we have the personnel that cater specifically to supporting the manufacturing industry and aiding in these processes.

A thorough Health and Safety Management System complete with Safe Work Practices and Procedures coupled with training can significantly reduce workplace incidents and injuries.
POWER GENERATION
The power generation sector is an essential service industry that uses technologies ranging from the mature steam turbine to pioneering marine current turbines. Since privatization in 1990, the main objective of the sector had been profitability for shareholders. Now, increasingly important to the corporate agenda are issues such as health, safety, and sustainability.
As first world and developing economies continue expanding their power bases to meet increasing demand, the ripple effect can be felt here in Canada. The number of Power Industry projects is continually increasing. In developed economies, aging infrastructure and increased legislation regarding emissions and the use of renewable energy are driving capital spending.
As an industry partner, we have assisted clients in the safe development of alternative power sources such as traditional coal fire, co-gen and wind power. We are committed to providing only the highest quality of personnel and equipment to meet the ever growing needs within this sector. Our innovative training methods and equipment ensure that our people are always ready to meet the ever growing demands of the industry.
